Flipendo You use this a ton in the game, it's the first spell you learn. You learn it at Ron's house. It's used to flip over chocolate frogs so you can eat them and heal up, to flip gnomes to then throw them somewhere, to kill plants, to shake beans out of armour and trophies. Diffendo You learn this on the first night in the greenhouse, when Neville is trapped behind a tapestry. It cuts open tapestries and cuts ropes. You need it for the next challenge, to cut ropes. You also can cut open various tapestries in the school to get into secret areas. Diffendo Cards: Free Neville from tapestry: 65> Gondoline Oliphant 2nd floor: cut tapestry by Charms room: 98 - Dymjphna Furmage 2nd floor: cut tapestry by Charms room: 43 - Cyprian Youdle 3rd floor: cut tapestry: 92 - xavier rastrick Expelliamus You learn this on Day 3 during the Dark Arts class. It lets you play tennis with your enemies, bouncing their spells back at them. Believe me, you're going to need this for every single challenge you do, so practice up and get good at it. Ectoplasm You learn this on the night of Day 3. It lets you get through green slime. You mostly use it for this one time period, although you do find several chests around that are slimed that you can now get into. Green Chests: 1st floor: classroom 1e: 87 - Thaddeus Thurkell 1st floor: down hall: 96 - Hengist of Woodcroft 2nd floor: behind tapestry: bigger bean bag - can carry 100 now. 2nd floor: dark arts room: 95 - Yardley Platt 7th floor: past where the shop normally is: 83 - Roderick Plumpton 7th floor: 7a arithmancy: 79 - Oswald Beamish Avifors This spell is learned on day 4 in the Avifors Challenge. It lets you turn items into birds. This is solely used to get through this challenge and the next, so that you get birds to land on pressure switches. Incendio This spell is learned on day 5 in the Incendio Challenge. It lets you light things on fire. It's used a lot during that challenge to light torches and statues on fire. It's also used to burn cobwebs to get to chests covered by cobwebs. In the spider night sequence, it's used to attack spiders and burn their webs. Webbed Chests: main entry hall: straight across top balcony - end in room: 76 - Myron Wagtail 1st floor: transfiguration - 85 - Blenheim Stalk 2nd floor: cut tapestry, on right - 74 - Montague Knightley 7th floor: room 7a - 88 - Celestina Warbeck Alohomora The last spell is bought at the shop for 80 beans, so you have to wait until you have a bean bag that will hold 100 beans to get this. It's an unlocking spell. It does NOT unlock doors. All it unlocks is locked chests. | Escaping Home |
The Burrow This, like all missions, is to get you used to how to use your controllers. You learn flipendo, which you use a lot to break and flip things. Use it on the measurer to practice, and on the jar to get beans. Then follow them into the barn.
There are gnomes in here to help you practice targeting. It's really easy, just target them and zap them. Next you duel with their washing machine. Be sure to hit it when the door is open! When you defeat it, you get a chocolate frog. Flipendo it and grab it for health.
Now on to the fun stuff!! Spinning gnomes. This is really neat! Flipendo one, grab it and then spin around. Aim for the two targets! The prizes you get here are:
* Derwent Shimpling for beating the record * Merlin for hitting the haystack * Gregory the Smarmy for hitting the scarecrow
When you've done enough you can end the day, or keep playing if you want!

| Diagon Alley |
Getting to the Alley OK, you try to take the fireplace route to Diagon Alley but fail. You end up in a shady shop. Head to the far back and go in the black door. You hear Lucius and Draco selling a book. When they leave, sneak over there to learn Lumos - this lights up a dark area.
Search the case on the left for beans. Now go in the back again and use your light. You'll see a spot to 'open' - do so and go through.
Now you've got imps to duel and dodge. Keep shooting them until the meter is gone. Now jump over the wall and flip them, dumping each one into a cage once you've grabbed them. When you do all of them, you get a card - Daisy Dodderidge. In the back shelf is ajar with chocolate frog. Go over the cage to get to the upper area. More beans in a jar. At the end is a chest with an owl treat. Now go to the other side, to the perch. Call Hedwig and feed her. A ladder drops down for you.
Climb up. Use light while walking, a lot of the floor falls out on you. Get to the back hole and use the light to go through it. Go out and against the wall to slide the boxes there. Down the stairs. Drag the box back and push the button behind it. The main grate opens in the main room. Go back there. In there is a chest with a wizard card - Gulliver Pokeby. Push the button here to open the other gate, and now you're out into the alley.
Getting your Spellbook You find Ginny and learn that first you need your Grade 2 spellbook. You get a silver sickle from them. Hey, aren't you supposed to be fabulously wealthy? What's with this one-coin stuff? Follow them to the store. Along the way zap a jar on the left and a bird cage on the right for more beans. Ignore the coin you pass - you can't get that until later.
Go into the book shop. Rummage through all the shelves to fill up to 50 beans, that's all you get until later on. Buy a book at the desk - it costs 1 sickle. Go figure! Now head out. Use your new power level to blast the barrels and get that silver sickle. You want to get a total of 12 silver sickles at this point because you'll be buying one thing that costs 4 and another thing that costs 8. So head down the street to the left further and blast the barrels down at the end there, then head all the way down to the opposite end (right when heading out of the book shop) and blast the barrels there too.
Leaky Cauldron First, the Leaky Cauldron. Go right when leaving the bookshop (after doing your sickle-gathering) and then right again into the door. You can talk to people if you'd like. Then head right into the back room by blowing up the barrels blocking your way. You'll see a sickle there, and when you go towards it you fall into a trap door.
Push the button to open the door and move the sickle. The next area has 3 imps. Knock them all and plunk them into their cages to get Rowena Ravenclaw's card. Be sure to crawl through the barrels here to get a chest with Mirabella Plunkett's card.
Run past the barrels and out through the door. In the next room, cross the ledge to the right and push the box down to the lower level. Jump down after it and push it across to the other side. Now jump up onto it and up to the next level. Go up the stairs. Here, use the light and push the wall to get into the fireplace. You get Ginny's spellotape, and a sickle from the corner. Head back out. One down.
Magical Menagerie Quest #2. The Magical Menagerie is run by a cranky old wizard. Just run in to the inner door, but then you have to be sneaky. Go right in to the center aisle and watch where the old wizard goes. Go around the other side and hit the button. Don't worry if he catches you, you just go back in again. Once the button is in, it stays in. Now go around to the door the same way - in to the center then dodging where he's looking. In the next room is Ginny's brass scales and a card - Tilly Toke. That's it!
Joke Shop OK, part 3. Go down the stairs to the joke shop. Head into the back room and use Flipendo on the meter to open the little door. Now in the next room use flipendo on every barrel to gather up the remaining coins you need. Also grab the quill.
Go ahead and buy the stink pellets for 4 coins. Head up back to Ginny and report your success, and get the Alberta Toothill wizard card. You're told that every 10 cards you get gives you an increase in stamina. You now have a scene with Lockhart.
For your final quest, just head down tot he apothacary on the right down the street. Spend your last 8 sickles for the potion vial, and equip it on O. Fill it up and head out to get Ron.

| Getting to Hogwarts |
Getting to Hedwig Spot You try to drive to Hogwarts and crash land. This part can be pretty easy if you know when to avoid a fight. Here we go.
First, head down to the base. Watch each root as you get near it. It goes 1-2-3-4-vanish. When it vanishes, jump over the gap and run. You have to do that twice.
In the next area, there are mushrooms that emit bad gas. Stay away from them, and there's a chest here with a chocolate frog in it. There are roots that pop up from the ground. You can run past all of them just by looking for the green spots in the ground and avoiding them. Don't bother fighting them, they just come back again. Go around to the far left (if the tree is to your back) and up on the ledge that is on the wall opposite the tree.
Head back along the ledge to the right again. There'll be a root to time and run under. Now you'll hit a mushroom that blocks your path. Pluck it and throw it to get rid of it, then walk along the ledge when the root draws back away from it. Get to the very end of the ledge and jump down. Yes, it looks like you can walk across the branch near the end, but you can't.
There's a chest with a chocolate frog at the end here. Flipendo the little branches on the side wall and crawl in. A tree falls behind you so you can't go back. Little imps are here. Just keep blasting the ones on the ground, don't even worry about the ones up high. If you try to target them they'll just bop you in the head with nuts. When the progress bar is done, one comes up on the tree. Blast him to get through the tree area.
A chest has a wizard card - Grogan Stump. Now go up on the log and over to the Hedwig spot.
Gytrashes and Trees Talk to Hedwig and learn to use Lumos on the Gytrashes. Sure enough, when you go on from here you encounter 2 of the dog-beasts. Don't power your want up tons, they'll hit you while you're powering up. Just power it up a bit and chase them to burn them up. When the progress bar is done, flipendo the bush for health. Then flipendo the roots to crawl in.
Just run through the imps in the next area, and go up to the cauldron-trunk. Fill up your vial, drink it to heal, then fill up your vial again. Shoot the roots here and crawl in.
FINALLY you find Ron. How did he fall all this way away from you? This is, as you guessed, the boss battle for this area. Here's the trick. The tree has two 'arms' that it hits with. When it hits, it creates a ripple that can hurt you. Run all the way in to Ron and stand next to him. Let an arm whack a few times. Then it goes up and shows you its 'palm' with a circle on it. Target the palm and hit it. Don't power up tons, the palm doesn't stay there that long. When you do, the tree will start thrashing poor Ron all over the place. When it does, target the eye and zap it.
Do this a few times, the tree will start picking up the car and whacking it on the ground. Luckily you're pretty safe near Ron from any trouble, so just wait, shoot the palm, shoot the eye, wait and so on. Soon the tree gives up and you can head in to Hogwarts!

| Hogwarts Day 1 |
Talking and Exploring On your way into Hogwarts, run right a bit to get the potion vial case there. It's a quest item. Now go with Ron into the building. Go up the stairs and right, then run all the way up to the 7th floor. The stairs will nicely appear for you. Go right to the picture. Hermoine comes and gives you the password and you go in. You learn Fred and George have a shop for you, and you give the vial case to your buddy there to get the Dunbar Oglethorpe card.
Go around the edge of the reading room to the painting on the opposite wall to get in to the bean shop area. I bought Alberic Grunnion's card here for 30 beans, leaving me 20 left. In the bathroom is the Queen Maeve card!! She's a GREAT Irish legend, be sure to read about her.
Go into the stall on the right with no toilet and open the back wall to go out a tunnel. You end up in the reading room again, go back to Ron. He's going off to bed. Follow him upstairs into the bedroom. In the chest here is Leopoldina Smethwyck's card. Time to sleep.

| Day 2 |
Flying Lessons OK, today you have to head out for flying lessons, Head down the stairs and out, then right through the tunnel and right again to the flying area.
You can practice this as many times as you want. Try to get to 100! It's a lot of fun. When you're done, it's back to sleep! Hit the various armor and bookshelves along the way to gather up beans

| Day 2 Nighttime |
Neville is Stuck Neville is stuck behind the tapestry! You need the Marauding Monsters book in the library, the diffendo spellbook in herb greenhouse #3, and then to rescue Neville.
OK, step 1. Go down to the library. You have to run through the guards - watch their patterns and wait for a break when their backs are turned to get through. The book is right there in the main room. Just save before each guard-run so if you get caught you can reload without losing points.
Next, sneak down the stairs. Go straight, left, forward, right to the door. At the entrance hall, you must sneak out down the top stairs behind the boy. Wait for the lower boy to cross the floor then run for the main door and out. Now wait for the 2 guards to go across the path and then run right and over to the greenhouse.
Go around to the back of the greenhouse, flipendo the plants, pull and crouch through the hole. You'll find card #72 - Helga Hufflepuff. Go up to the book - Diffendo - cuts ropes and tapestries. Useful! Fill your health in the cauldron. There isn't anything in the other greenhouses.
Back into the building and up. On the 2nd floor you find Nick frozen with a note about the Chamber of Secrets. There's a cut scene where you're taken off, with the hat and phoenix. Now back up to the 7th floor, sneak past more guards. You free Neville and get card #65 - Gondoline Oliphant.
Roam around a bit. The room off the main lounge area has card #1 - Balfour Blane. I bought #47 - Edgar Stroulger in the shop at this point. Off to bed!

| Day 3 |
Dark Arts Dueling Lessons OK, Hermoine says to meet her in the 3rd floor. Head down there to the Dark Arts room. They put you through the portrait, and tell you to fetch the Expelliamus spell book.
First, push the button to activate the flying spheres. Flipendo each one and blocks will push out to let you go up to the left. On the left there's a potion cauldron to heal up. Now head right to the next room.
There are gnomes here. You'll need them so don't kill them all. Push the first button to bring the ball down. Go up onto the ledge. Press and hold R1 to target the rope. Shoot it to get to the next area. From the next ledge, press and hold R1 to the next rope. The next button is blocked by a cage. Grab one of those gnomes and toss it into the cage to get the button. On to the next, go down to the floor and toss a gnome into that cage. The button raises you up and you push the button there. One ball left. Go back down by the circle in the wall to shoot it. Head on out.
OK, cut the 2 ropes to slow the spinners and run through. Run past the gnomes and up onto the ledge. Flipendo each fire creature and run past it. The door is to the right.
Now cut the rope on the ball - it goes down to the first floor. Jump down after it, enter the door and jump straight to the book.
You learn Expelliarmus - rebounds an opponent's spell. Now back up a little when the statue flings yellow balls at you. Press the button when it's about halfway to you so you have the shield up when it hits you and then you can release the shield after that. It's like catch, you want the shield up when the ball hits you and then release it to fling the ball back.
The first few he throws right at you. Then you have to run to get to where he aims the others to catch them properly. If he throws 2 in a row, dodge the second one - you can't power back up in time.
Quidditch Practice Your first real quidditch practice comes after your dueling lesson. Head out to the field - it's the doorway cut in the rock straight across from you when you leave the Hogwarts building.
In essence, just follow through the rings and use your BOOST to get close to the golden snitch. When you're close, you'll switch into a 'grab' mode which is pretty easy, just hit the button when the snitch is near your hand. You win!
I have 200 points, grade B at this point, and I'm really not even trying for points. I get caught a lot and so on while trying different techniques to see what works best for the walkthrough. So it should be pretty easy to still have an A here!
Press X to end the day and move on to the next stage.

| Day 3 Night |
Hogwarts: A History You have to find copy of Hogwarts: A History. Hermoine wants to learn about chamber of secrets. She says it's in the restricted section of the library. She says to start at the 2nd floor in the library reading room. You need to get to the door with golden arch, through to the reading room annex. At the end is a portrait. The password is 'bibliophile'.
OK, so start by going down to 2nd floor, to reading room door.
I hate this room, you can rarely see the people in there to know how to dodge them. And you have to exit and reload to try again without losing points. When you walk into the room, go left and around the outside this time, to second-to-last aisle. Now go across to the far right and in the gold door.
Now you have another set of dodging people. Oh what fun. Go around to the middle and then left near the end, to the portrait. Crawl through.
Now you're trapped in the library room. Search and fill up on beans. Then head up the ladder. Go across ledge to the other ladder. Up it. The books don't attack - they just fly so watch their paths and dodge them. Ledge - another ladder up. Another ledge. Up ladder. Another ledge. Finally, a door. Around a hallway and to another door.
Now in new library area. Go to perch area. Hedwig flies down to you. 'Students can admire the cover from below'. Chest by back door - owl treat. Go back to Hedwig and feed him - she lowers a ladder. It's over by the owl treat chest.
Now jump across the bookcase tops. Be sure to go around across the door and use your cutting spell to get across the two roped areas. Get to the book. Now it says to return to Hermoine.

| Day 4 |
Transfiguration and Avifors Challenge Next morning. Transfiguration first thing - first floor. You can go past where the shop normally is (it's not open) to chest to get card #83 - Roderick Plumpton. Caught snitch in 3.5 seconds.
Now they send me to the Avifors challenge. fun. First remove green stuff on left and right and pull two levers. Now path opens beneath where you entered the room. Go through there.
You're in a new stone room. Go into the opening into the center island area, and light up the interior. You'll find a wall you can open to create another entrance into this inner room. Go out and you'll find you can hop on this new doorway to get onto the island.
Jump out to the ledge you can reach from the top, and jump around (using ledges twice) to get to the door. The darn ghosts keep taking your beans as you do.
OK now you can see the book. Run to it, dodging the ghosts and pick it up. Now you have Transfiguration - Avifors. Turns small objects into birds.
Do the spell 3 times in this room, each time the bird moves to a new spot so you can go up a ledge and finally into a crawl hole. Chest - chocolate frog - full heal
OK now you're back in the starting room. Run jump left and avifors the statue there, then back to the start and the same to the right. Now go out on the ledge past the starting point for each one, and when you make it leave, push the drawbridge down to the center. When both drawbridges are down, the gargoyle awakens!
You have to do a wizard's duel with him. Go in close - easier. When you're done, he turns into a statue. Go over and turn it into a bird, and it flies down to the release lever. Now you can go out the door and crawl back through the hole.
You get 40 house points!!

| Day 4 Nighttime |
Polyjuice and Malfoy Now Hermoine wants to meet me in girl's bathroom on 2nd floor. Ron says to meet you there. Head down to girl's bathroom, to left of library door. She wants to find the heir of Sliterin. She's made a polyjuice potion. She'll turn me into Goyle. You drink it. 'Try to find Malfoy'.
he he he - go harass the school guys and lose 5 points each time for sliterhin!!! After 4 catches they just yell at you, no more points
Go down the main stairs and to the right in entry hall. Sneak sneak. Now in dungeons.
Go in the metal door, through shelf room and door at other end. Find Draco. He doesn't know how slytherin's heir is. He says a mudblood girl died last time. to get out - go around to right between first and second aisle and wait for left guy to go down. then run along left wall and out.
Now get back up to bathroom. Tell them it's not Malfoy. They say see you in the morning. Go to 3rd floor - push bookcase in center of left wall - goes inwards. There's a long stair up, with a locked chest. Come out through hole beneath bookcase by portrait into your area.

| Day 5 |
Charms and Incendio Challenge Today you have charms with Flitwick on the 2nd floor. Note that Ginny is there acting strangely. Her brother asks you to watch out for her.
Time to learn about Incendio. It's the Incendio challenge, and Potter. is called on.
Jump to the side tower first, watching the flame so you don't hit it. Then jump down. There's nowhere to go yet - you have to fight the gargoyle. Do so - when he dies, the lower door behind him opens.
Head in and up to a new room. Jump across to the center area. Go to one of the lower areas with a gargoyle. After 3 tennis hits, you get an egg. Turn it into a bird. Now use the ramps to go up to the second gargoyle and do the same thing. The gate above opens.
Go into the next room and get the book! Incendio. OK, flipendo the flaming statue to get back out to the edge. Now use incendio on the 4 torches to get them all lit and leave through the door.
Now you're back in the entry room. This part isn't much fun :) First, light the two square torches on fire. This brings down the two big pillars on either side. Each one leads to a room with a pair of wall-heads that switch the flames back and forth in the main room. Your aim is to get both flames on the left side lit, and then move the flames to the right side.
So first get the left flames turned off. Now go to the two left monster statues. Light each one on fire, and then FLIPENDO it so it points up. The two platforms on that side rise, so you can jump from the back wall to the front wall. The flames on this side are turned off so you don't have any interference when you jump. Now you can jump across those two platforms and push the left button.
Switch the flames to the right and go across the right side to that button. You are done!

Quidditch Match: Ravenclaw This match isn't much more challenging than the last. You get bumped a bit more, but really just focus on flying through the rings and boosting when you get close. You can replay it as much as you need to to win.

| Day 5 Nighttime |
Tom Riddle and the Spiders You have a cut scene now about Tom Riddle's Diary. Riddle tells you about the monster killing the girl 50 years ago, and shows how Tom confronted Hagrid about his pet monsters. You run to Hagrid's house and watch as Malfoy's father takes away Hagrid. They're sending him to Azkaban and suspending Dumbledore too. Hagrid says to follow the spiders. He drops a key for you. This key only opens up the gateway behind his house into the forest.
Follow the spiders. There's a chest with card 66 Flavius Belby. You use incendio a TON in this level, both to burn webs and kill all the spiders. Be sure to use your 'target' when going after the spiders! Burn through the webs and follow the spiders. Now head up and find where a web covers a pit. Burn it and jump in. A new area loads.
A big spider is here. He says he's not the monster. Suuuuuure. :) He's certainly *A* monster! Now you have to get away from him. Head out. Down below him is a chocolate frog in a chest. Coming back up from there on the left is a chest - 63 - Herman Wintringham.
Go through web to go up on ledge to get another frog. Now go up on ledge to where you see big spider on web in front of you. Turn left and burn the web on your left. He sends little spiders at you. Climb up the stairs and burn the next web bit and go forward. Go around the chasm to the left, then jump and jump again to an inner chasm. Climb up to the left for a chest with 62 - Ignatia Wildsmith.
If you're unhealthy, keep flipendoing trees - they give endless treats if you're patient.
OK, go back down and forward through web. Now walk across the room avoiding the thin strands. Go along right to branch. Cross the branch. Go forward and left up to chest - another chocolate frog. They are certainly keeping you healthy! Now back down to web on left and burn it to go through.
Through tunnel. Chest - chocolate frog! It'd be hard to die in here. Another web to burn. On the left is a silver spider - get it first and then the others. Head over to web on left. Another silver spider and friend, and a chest - chocolate frog. Yummmmm.
Go up - burn web, flip plants and go through. Kill the spiders then take the ledge across to the right. Head up the ramp killing spiders as you go. Use your targeting! Burn the web. There are lots of spiders here, but you're almost done. A chest in bushes has a chocolate frog. Another chest has card - 64 - Jocunda Sykes.
Burn the web - the giant spider falls. So does Harry. Now you face the spider. When he rears up - get him with a fire blast. He drops silken sacs with treats for you. How nice! Watch his shock-waves and shoot him when he's reared up!
The car comes in and you leap in and fly off. That's the end of day.

Final Match against Slytherin The next day, you're late for final match. This is the ONLY thing you do all day! Meet Ron and Hermoine on floor 2 - after a chat, Hermoine goes to the library.
Go beat Slyterin in the match. You can keep replaying it but really it's not that bad at all. I won 160 to 10. When you win, you're the winner of the league.
You get a .2 second cut scene with Dumbledore giving you the cup. Wasn't he kicked out? How about a special banquet or something? Sheesh. No party, instead Ron goes to bed. Hermoine is missing. And this is how the day ends??

| Day 6 Nighttime |
The Chamber of Secrets This is really your last challenge. You meet up with Ron. Ginny is missing, Hermoine is petrified. The monster is a basilisk, it lives in the pipes. Head to the 2nd floor bathroom.
Talk to Myrtle. she saw eyes by the sink. Harry says 'open up' in parseltongue and the sinks open. He jumps in. Head to the center of the room - see Ginny. Tom is there. He says he's Lord Voldemort. The basilisk comes out, and Fawkes the phoenix drops a sword for you and attacks the basilisk.
OK this is literally your last fight in the game. Grab the sword, and target the snake. Attack when he rears up. Use the left stick to point the beam at his throat during that attack period. He'll react loudly when you get it on target. Each time you nail him, he'll fling the sword somewhere and you have to run and get it while rocks fall on your head.
When you get him four times (hardly a real boss battle!!) the snake dies, Tom dies and Ginny is OK. She apologizes pretty feebly and Harry of course says 'Ah, that's OK'. They leave and that's it.

The Final Day - End of Game Really, the sole purpose of this day is for you to go around finishing the other quests up. It's the next morning - Ron and Hermoine meet up with you. She's sad that exams are cancelled. They say the House Cup is about to be awarded.
Save here. You can go forward just to see what happens but it's pretty feeble. Sure enough (assuming you gave it even a half hearted attempt up until now) the House Cup goes to Gryffindor. It goes to you even without doing most of the other quests. You get a 2 second scene with them giving you the cup. Then it jumps to a final scene with a narrator explaining that Harry tells them everything. It all had to do with loyalty, friendship and courage. And Harry was the Boy who Lived.
